The media fraternity is today mourning the passing on of legendary presenter Agawo Pat Roberts aka Patrobas. According to sources Patrobas collapsed on Sunday and was rushed to Jamaa Hospital in Nairobi’s Uhuru estate before being transferred to Nairobi Women’s where he unfortunately passed on at the age of 69.
Until his demise Patrobas was working at Ramogi FM of Royal Media Services where he hosted a popular Rhumba show and anchored news. He will be remembered for his unique and commanding voice, stellar comprehension of Rhumba music in an impressive career that span over 30 years.
So popular was his show that when at some point Royal media laid him off alongside others, but was rehired after public outcry.
“He was also one of the most original broadcasters the country has ever had,” Royal Media Services Programmes Director Mr Fred Afune said.
Rest in Peace.
