Barely before the country comes to terms with the passing on of Former Interior Cabinet Secretary General Joseph Nkaiserry and Former Minister Nickolas Biwott, Kenyans have woken up to the news that Ex Former Truth Justice and Reconciliation (TJRC) Chairman Ambassador Bethwel Kiplagat has died.
According to his family Kiplagat passed away at the Nairobi Hospital on Friday morning. Details of the cause of his death have not been confirmed but it’s said that he had been ailing for some quite time.

As the the chairman of TJRC was set up in 2008 Ambassador Kiplagat and his team were tasked with coming up with recommendations on how to tackle post ethnic conflicts and political violence, including the 1982 coup d’etat, Shifta war and the post-election violence of 2007.
National Super Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga has been on the fore front in calling for the implementation of the TJRC report which was handed to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
