Media personality Julie Gichuru has been blasted on social media after she made a comment regarding the safety of IEBC staff members. Her comments come after in the wake of reported violent attacks against the staff members in some parts of the country.
If we set a precedent that elections are meaningless & volatile demonstrations/belligerence are keys to negotiating power, woe betide us 🙏

Many users questioned why she hasn’t spoken about police brutality that has been meted out on Anti-NASA demonstrators and also Nairobi university students which happened a few weeks ago.
Here are some of the comments on her twitter thread….
No one said elections are meaningless, it’s the credibility that is questionable. And woe unto us if we believe that democracy means keeping quiet when things are not done as per the constitution. No one is negotiating power with demos!!

No single tweet in solidarity with a two year old kid shot in the name of ‘peace’. Hypocrisy in stiletoes, lipstick and eyeliner

By ‘us’ you mean the sponsors of your peace campaigns? #luolivesmatter too! In fact their taxes fund your sponsors.

You’ve again started preaching peace instead of integrity? Kindly understand the difference

I believe I’ve shared my thoughts in this thread. It is seems as though you were intent on replying, not to listening.

Should we then ACCEPT bungled and PREDETERMINED elections and MOVE ON? #UTHAMAKI. A public figures thinking like my GRANDMA in Laare.
